A huge blocked drain in St Leonards
Richard knew that there was something wrong, something very, very wrong.
Theirs was an old house. With three children, the spaciousness of the house was a definite plus. But lately, it seemed like having the kitchen and the master bathroom on the same wall as the bathroom downstairs was not such a great idea after all. That was because when they drained the kitchen sink after a particularly heavy load of washing, the bathtub downstairs started having some problems. There was a loud gurgling sound. When the water backed up, it would bring with it some slimy black debris. The accompanying smell was simply hair-raising!
At times, Richard wondered whether these problems were related to his septic system. But he had no way of knowing for sure. In the meanwhile, they had called the local plumber a number of times to snake the line and clean the drain pipe. The first time he had come, there was a pile of dirt and debris. But lately, the plumber could not find anything in the drain.
As Richard was toying with this drain problem and wondering what to do about it, he had a bright idea. Maybe he should try another plumber. Maybe this plumber was simply unable to find the actual reason. He had never thought of that before.
Fortunately for Richard, his best buddy was in the construction business and he could ask him for a reference. As he had expected, his friend directed him to a good plumber.
These plumbers were the best plumbers in St Leonards and they were called in for all sorts of plumbing problems in Artarmon, Wollstonecraft, Greenwich, Northwood, Crows Nest, Naremburn, Lane Cove and Cammeray. His friend assured him that if anyone could find a solution to the drain problem, it would be these plumbers.
Richard fixed an appointment with the plumber who came at the appointed time to look at the blocked sewer. The plumber was surprised that Richard had sat on the problem for so long.
“If you have a drain blockage, you need to be more alert to such problems. Can you remember when you last had the drain cleared from tree roots?”
Richard could only blink while the plumber started working on the tank.
It took him a few hours of work to find and fix the damage to the pipe leading to the sewer. Richard knew that it was messy work, which was why he was so impressed with the plumber professional attitude. The St Leonards plumber took care of everything. He even cleaned up after himself.
Before he left, the plumber assured him that there was a guarantee on the work he had completed. So, he could call the plumber in case the problem occurred again.
But Richard never had to call the plumber again for the same problem!
