It was Sunday morning and Cathy knew that she had a busy day ahead of her. Her parents-in-law were coming for lunch and they would be staying the night. She had a touchy relationship with her mother-in-law, mainly because the older woman tended to look down upon Cathy’s home management skills. Linda was always pulling her up for her cooking, washing, home décor and babying skills. Unfortunately, her husband being Linda’s son never really understood why Cathy bristled at the older woman’s thinly veiled comments. To him, it seemed like his mother was just trying to help. Anyways, long story short, she wanted everything to go just right today.
Breakfast was a hurried affair because Cathy was preparing a chicken casserole with vegetables for lunch. She was also baking a rum cake and whipping up a fruit salad. After that, she would also have to start work on dinner. She hated cooking when her mother-in-law was at home. So, she wanted to finish most of her work before they came.
Sometime in the middle of the morning, Cathy noticed that the faucet in the kitchen was not having enough water pressure. She did not know what the problem was but the water pressure was steadily dropping. She could not have the faucet dying on her this morning.
